A resource can be a sample, material, ingredient, or instrument being used in a step as an input or output. Resources also serve as components within other resources. Resources typically have a set of properties.
Resource Types are chosen in Design Mode and define the category of resourced to be used or produced. For example, an "Incubator Shaker" is a type of equipment that will be required. Properties and components can be added an specifications set.
Specific instances of the resource type to be used in the experiment are chosen in Measure Mode. For example, "My Shaker" is a specific instance of type "Incubator Shaker".
