A component is a resource that is part of another resource. For example, a solution may be composed of two components: water and sugar, or a fermenter may be composed of a vessel and a probe. Each component may have its own properties. Components are added to resources via the Properties and Specifications pane at the bottom of the Riffyn screen.

Seen below, "Glycine" and "Microtiter Plate" are components of resource "Cell Culture". "Concentration" is a property of "Glycine".
